573,429 Gombe Residents To Benefit From GO-CARES Interventions

Gombe State government on Monday flagged off the 4th phase of the Gombe State COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (GO-CARES) programme. 

Flagging off the fourth phase at Amada, Akko local government area, the commissioner for budget and economic planning, Salihu Baba Alkali, explained that the the programme includes State Cash Transfer Grants for 2,500 direct beneficiaries and Labour Intensive Public Works for 2,700 direct beneficiaries.

Additionally, he said, 10,000 people would receive Livelihood Grants, while 405,000 would benefit indirectly from Basic Services.

The programm according to him, also provides Agricultural Inputs and Services to 125,729 direct beneficiaries, Rural Infrastructure to 16,000 indirect beneficiaries, and Agricultural Assets to 9,000 direct beneficiaries. 

"Furthermore, 1,300 businesses will receive Operational Grants, and 700 will benefit from IT Enhancement Grants.

"This phase aims to support the poor and vulnerable, young entrepreneurs, and rural farmers, benefiting 573,429 people directly and indirectly across the state.", he noted.

He assured that Governor Inuwa Yahaya's administration was committed to lifting the people of Gombe State out of poverty through economic development.
