Bauchi gets first Professor of Arabic literature

A lecturer with the Federal University Kashere, Gombe State Professor Muhammad Safiyyu Abdulkadir, has become the first indigene of Bauchi to become a professor in Arabic Literature (Nigerian Arabic Literature).

Islamic scholars disclosed this in Bauchi at Walima reception to celebrate Prof. Safiyyu's meritorious promotion to attain such an honour as a professor of Arabic Literature in the Federal University Kashere. 

The Bauchi State born Islamic scholar has written useful and valuable scientific researches in academic and non-academic literature in articles, magazines and books. He has written more than 40 write-ups, including books, articles, book reviews and others in his field of study and in other scientific fields.

Some of his journals were published in universities and scientific centers outside the country, and he held many scientific meetings, conferences and symposiums and many workshops and training courses attended globally.

The Secretary of the National Association of Teachers Of Arabic And Islamic Studies (NATAIS) Professor Ramadan Sheriff while reacting to the development said Safiyyu's resilience, commitment to knowledge acquisition and dissemination, and passion for scholarly development exemplify the values he instilled in NATAIS.

Ramadan said "Being the first Bauchi State indigene to attain such an honour is a testament to your knack for scholarly excellence, dedication to intellectual erudition, and the profound impact of the education provided by our father, teacher and mentor, late Sheikh Abdulkadir Musa Jahun of blessed memory may Allah be pleased with him."
