Team Bauchi emerged as the winner by defeating Team Gombe in 2-1 in the final football match of the North East Development Commission NEDC Secondary Schools Sport Tournament in Bauchi.
The game which commenced at 4:00pm at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium saw the first goal in the match from the Bauchi Team at 5:12 pm and second goal at 5:54 pm. While the Gombe Team got a penalty foil at 5:35 pm and equalise one goal.
At the end of the full time Team Bauchi defeated Team Gombe with two goals against one and emerged the winner of the football event.
Our correspondent reports that the grand finale competition which started on Tuesday 11th has witnessed a series of events comprising football, basketball, long tennis, table tennis and athletics with contingents from the six states across the North East.
