A non-governmental organisation, Haske Humanitarian and Initiative has condemned the rape of a two years old girl in Bauchi State.
Haske, a group which to promotes human dignity and protecting vulnerable populations, condemned the “horrific” rape and murder of a two-year-old girl in Ningi Local Government Area of the State.
According to a statement by the organisation’s media officer, Edo Itodo said “We are saddened by this unspeakable crime, which has left us all devastated. The brutal rape and murder of an innocent child is an indication of the alarming rate of sexual violence and impunity in our society,” he said.
The group however, demanded the police command intensify the investigation process, arrest and prosecution of the perpetrator(s). Swift justice and severe penalties for the convicted.
Also, strengthened laws and policies protecting children from sexual violence. Support and protection for the victim's family.
“We stand in solidarity with the victim's family, while we extend our condolences,” he said.
