The Hon. Ibrahim Ali Usman Foundation has distributed over 1,050,000 exercise books to pupils in various primary and secondary schools across Bauchi South Senatorial district of the state to promote learning.
The foundation distributed no fewer than 150,000 exercise books to each of the seven Local Government Areas constituting the south senatorial district of the state.
Speaking while presenting the book donation yesterday, Hon. Ibrahim Ali Usman disclosed that arrangements are also afoot by the foundation to support the development of education, including the reduction of out of school children in the district.
According to him, it is through such support, as the donation of learning materials such as books, handbags, and even school uniforms for the pupils that could assist in returning back to classes the out of school children.
He expressed worrisome on how some girls-child in some local government areas were seen roaming the streets in the name of hawking without necessarily going to school, hence his fight against out of school children.
Hon. Ali also announced a plan by the foundation to assist in the life development of the girl-child especially in pursuit of education, or skills acquisition to poster livelihood, and towards self-reliance, as against hawking on the streets.
Other areas of focus by the foundation, according to the lawmaker, included youths empowerment to curb restiveness, as well as the promotion of health being of the people
"We'll also pay greater attention to the betterment of the living conditions of our people, especially the womenfolk, and provision of scholarship awards and examination fees to deserving indigenous students", he further assured.
Usman, who was apparently bracing up for elective position in the 2027 general elections, emphasised his resolve to assist womenfolk, especially the aged ones, and the school-age girls willing to enroll into school.
It could be recalled that Hon. Ali Ibrahim Usman has for some years now been assisting people, especially the less-privileged members of the society in the areas of healthcare services, education, skills acquisition, among others.
Also speaking, Alh. Garba Abdu Baba Garkuwa who took into cognisance the magnanimous disposition of Hon. Ibrahim Ali Usman, urged him to aspire for the Bauchi south senatorial seat comes 2027 polls.
"Having taken over a decade of generosity to the people of not only the Bauchi south senatorial district, but Bauchi state in it's entity, Hon. Usman could best be seen as equal to a senatorial seat", Baba Garkuwa canvassed.
Baba Garkuwa therefore tendered a passionate appeal to Hon. Ibrahim Ali Usman to kindly see to the numerous calls of the people in the state for him to aspire to the senatorial seat in 2027.
