The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate has granted approval to the Malikiyya College of Nursing Services Bauchi, to commence training of General Nursing Programme and Midwifery programmes .
The approval came after the college met with the accreditation requirements.
Proprietor of the College Alhaji Aminu Mohammed Danmaliki said this Monday in Bauchi when he spoke to newsmen, he said the approval was conveyed to the Malikiyya College by the Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria Faruk Umar Abubakar.
"The letter said the college shall start with the provisional of 100 students intake with effect from November 2024 for General Nursing while 100 students intake was also approved for Midwifery with effect from September 2024.
"The approval was granted to the college in pursuant in pursuant to Section 14 (Sub-section 182) of the Act 143. Laws of the Federation of Nigeria (2004) and directed the College to pay the approved establishment fee of N3,281,250 into the Nursing and Midwifery Council's TSA account through Remita platform."
Proprietor said the college has graduated over 3,000 students in both medical and environmental sciences who are working in various hospitals in the State.
He said the college now has students from the southern and northern part of Nigeria and appealed to the government and philanthropists to support the college by sponsoring more students as part of effort to fill the gap on inadequate manpower in our hospitals.
