Yoruba Community in Bauchi State
has expressed deep condolences to the Governor, Bala Mohammed, over the demise of his stepmother, Hajiya Hauwa Mohammed Duguri who died at the age of 120.
The Community in a statement release by its President-General, Special Apostle Segun Awofadeji on Wednesday, described Hajiya Hauwa as a role model and beacon of hope, whose death is a great loss not only to the immediate family but to the State and Nigeria as a whole considering the number of leaders she was able to raise before her death.
The Yoruba President acknowledged her pivotal role in nurturing "our dear Distinguished Mr Project, workaholic and indefatigable Governor, Senator Bala Abdukadir Mohammed into an exemplary leader", and extended his sympathies to the people and government of Bauchi State.
According to him, "Death is inevitable, but the loss of a loved one is always painful, regardless of their age. We submit to the will of God that Mama's time has come. All we can do is accept it as His will".
Awofadeji then prayed God to grant her soul rest in Aljannah Firdausi and the family the fortitude to bear and endure the irreparable and profound loss, saying that the entire Yoruba Community in the State is with the Governor at this moment of grief.
