The Sa'adu Zungur University, Gadau has said that the Bauchi State Government has increased its monthly subvention to improve quality education.
The University’s Public Relations Officer, Auwal Hassan in a statement, confirmed that the Institution now has an increased allocation, thanking Bala Mohammed for the move. The varsity had in the past engulfed chronic underfunding that has led to some lecturers exiting the school.
Hassan said that “the management of SAZU and the entire University community expressed its profound gratitude and sincere appreciation to the Visitor, His Excellency Senator Bala Abudulkadir Mohammed CON (Kauran Daular Usmaniyya), the Executive Governor of Bauchi State for this giant strides.
“This indeed, is a remarkable effort by the administration of the Governor, His Excellency Senator Bala Mohammed towards improving the standard of the University, which is in line with his vision of improving the standard and quality of education in Bauchi state.
“The Vice Chancellor of Sa’adu Zungur University SAZU, Professor Fatimah Tahir, and the entire management of the Institution are optimistic that this giant stride can go a long way in addressing most, if not all, the challenges faced by the University, particularly in the area of teaching and learning.”
According to the PRO, Tahir commended the governor for understanding the numerous challenges facing the Institution particularly that of inadequate funding which slows down the University to be able to compete with its counterparts in other states of the country. This will now become a thing of the past.
