The member representing Ganjuwa/Darazo Federal Constituency, Hon. Mansur Manu Soro, has pledged to collaborate with the Ganjuwa local government council to provide temporary accommodation for visiting health workers involved in immunisation efforts in 2025.
Hon. Soro made this commitment during a follow-up advocacy visit by Dr. Aminu Magashi, Executive Director of the African Health Budget Network (AHBN), and Hon. Mohammed Usman, AHBN Zero Dose Advisor.
He also promised to explore constituency funding in the 2026 budget to establish permanent housing for these critical healthcare teams. Soro's pledge demonstrates his commitment to supporting immunization efforts and improving healthcare in his constituency.
“His efforts align with his previous initiatives, such as providing grants to schools and health facilities in his constituency."
The visit aimed to provide accommodation for supervisors and visiting teams, as recommended by local government officials.
Ganjuwa local government is one of the zero-dose local governments in the state, and the zero-dose Learning Hub Community of Practice has been working to improve immunization efforts in the area.
The Community of Practice has conducted facility-based supervision to track immunization budget utilization and promote financial accountability and sustainability in the state.
Earlier, Dr. Aminu Magashi, Executive Director of the African Health Budget Network, said the follow-up advocacy visit was in response to recommendations by local government officials, emphasizing the need for accommodation for supervisors and visiting health teams to enhance immunization outreach and ensure the success of health initiatives in the area.
He commended Hon. Manu Soro for his pledge, stating that it will go a long way in supporting immunization efforts in Ganjuwa LGA.
