Eight years after graduation, ten former students of the National Teachers Institute (NTI) have demanded for the immediate issuance of their BSc Ed certificates and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) exemption certificates to enable them get promoted in their various places of employment.
The affected former students are: Bala Magaji Juwara, (Reg. No.
05012082016001165); Nuruddeen Babaji Ibrahim (Reg. No.NTI/BED/2016/2872);
(05012082016003359), Rashida Idi Guda (050120720164779); Yakubu Mohammad and Nenman Goshewa
(05012072016000738).
Others are: Gobwir Ahmad Muhammad Haruna (05012072016004178); Muhammad Sani, (05012072016002254); Abdullahi Musa Yarima (3207), Suleman Umar (050120720166001734) and Ibrahim Ahmad Muhammad (05012072016000569).
The demand was written on behalf of the students by AN-NUR Chambers, Equity & Justice, a Firm of Solicitors & Advocates, Corporate Practitioners, Notaries Public, Tax Consultants signed by Abdulqadir Garba Esq. dated 31st January, 2025 and addressed to the DG/CEO, National Teachers Institute (NTI), Kaduna,titled: "Demand for Immediate Issuance of BSc Ed Certificate /NYSC Exclusion Certificate."
The letter reads, "We are solicitors to BALA MAGAJI Juwara JUWARA (Reg. No.05012082016001165), NURUDDEEN BABAJI IBRAHIM (Reg.No.NTI/BED/2016/2872),

The letter further contained that, "On a short note, our clients who studied PHE & SOS at your institution graduated in 2018. However, since their graduation, they have only received provisional notification of their results, and their original BSc Ed Certificates and NYSC Exclusion Certificates are still not issued to them, despite having been cleared to have successfully graduated and in
the face of repeated requests."
"Our clients stated that the delay in issuing the original certificates has
hindered their career advancement. As Civil Servants, they have been due for promotion, but the lack of original certificates has prevented the implementation of their promotion," It further contained.
According to the solicitors, "This has resulted in their peers being elevated above them, while they remain stagnant. Our clients have stated that the challenges they are forced to go through by your institution, have caused them to discourage potential candidates from
enrolling in your institution.
"Therefore, we kindly request that you issue the original certificates to
our clients within one month from the date of serving this letter. Failure to comply with our demand will lead us to seek legal action to compel the issuance of the certificates and claim damages for the distress and hardship caused to our clients.
