Bauchi Reps Candidate Urges Tinubu, APC To Reward 2023 Poll Losers

By Khalid Idris Doya

House of Representatives candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to Bauchi federal constituency in the 2023 general elections, Engr. Abdullahi Sirajo Jibrin has expressed worrisome about the party's reward system, especially as it affect the state.

Engr. Abdullahi Sirajo Jibrin who was speaking to press in Bauchi yesterday when he paid a courtesy visit to the newly elected APC chairman of Bauchi LGA, called on the leadership of the party at the centre to consider the membership loyalty to the party.

He frowned, "From the APC  gubernatorial candidate to his deputy and the three senatorial candidates in the state under the party, none is considered for any appointive position by the party leadership at the centre".

He also urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider those who lost in the 2023 elections and reward them appropriately.

He explained that it is high time APC at the national level acknowledge their efforts and commit its reward system to appointive positions such as boards membership to some parastatals especially to governorship, his deputy and senatorial candidates in the 2023 elections.

"We have problem with our reward system, especially as regard Bauchi state from the leadership at the Centre. In some states, APC members, particularly governorship and senatorial candidates in the last general elections were opportuned with such gesture, but nothing to Bauchi".

He however said, "We commend Mr. President for his leadership style, the economy is getting back to normal, people are getting to understand where the Mr. President is heading to would want to do, Iam very optimistic in the next few years, the President would be able to stabilise everything in the country".

"The 2023 elections have passed, it's now time for governance and it's time for us to reflect over the past, what has happened in the 2023 general elections. APC is now stable in Bauchi state, we have no rancour, and we are hoping that 2027 would be much better than 2023".

Engr. Abdullahi Abbas has during his visit to Bauchi APC LGA Secretariat presented some food items for party members at both LGA and 20 electoral wards in the council area, expressing delight that the issue of anti-party activity has been squarely delt with once and for all.

Meanwhile, Eng Abbas distributed free bags of rice, maize, and millet to at least 1,000 households, helping to ease their burden during the holy month.

Responding, the newly elected Bauchi LGA chairman of the APC, Alhaji Sunusi Biyali commended the party member for his generosity, especially at this period of the Ramadan fast, and prayed God to reward him abundantly.

Alh. Biyali explained that Engr. Abbas has been a loyal member and very supportive to the party, saying he has been paying regular visit to the LGA party secretariat
