A non-governmental organisation, Kairos Initiative has feted 50 Almajiri children with new Salah clothes to celebrate this year's Eid-il-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan 1444AH.
The clothes were shared with the kids on Saturday at the Jumat Mosque, Stella Obasanjo road, GRA, Bauchi ahead of Sunday's celebration. The team lead of the Initiative, Dr. Moji Iheme explained that the organisation has been donating such items annually to spread love among the children who may be in need.
According to her, the Initiative in collaboration with the Malam of the Islamic learning centre requested for lists of 50 Almajiri children and their measurements. “The clothes were ready to wear according to the learners' sizes,” she said.
Malam Mohammed Bambiyo, the lead teacher of the Islamic school, commended the NGO for the timely intervention and consistency. According to him, the children were in a happy mood in their new clothes to celebrate among each other.
Bambiyo added the Kairos Initiative has been reaching out to the children in different ways. He expressed appreciation to the management of the organisation and encouraged them to do more for humanity.
“I can tell you that these kids do not have Salah clothes apart from these, coupled with the fact that they are not with their parents. Kairos Initiative has been donating to us, sometimes 40 pieces, 50 pieces and so on,” he said.
The kids were seen unfolding the clothes and putting them on in excitement. They express joy and prayed for the organisation.
