IWD: EIFIL trains women on soft skills in Bauchi

By Rauf Oyewole

As part of activities marking the International Women's Day (IWD) 2025, Evidence Initiative for Improved Livelihood (EIFIL) has empowered women in Bauchi communities to improve their skills.

International Women's Day is a global celebration held annually on March 8th to recognize women's social, economic, cultural, and political achievements. It also serves as a call to action for accelerating gender equality and addressing the challenges women face worldwide.
EIFIL, in its project, sponsored by Plan International's ASPIRE project, funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC), organised a capacity-building training for the resilient women of Brishin Gandu Community of Bauchi state. The training focused on liquid soap making and other toiletries production, empowering women with practical skills to enhance their livelihoods and promote economic independence.
The excited women were seen sharing the soaps they produced, fostering a spirit of cooperation and collective empowerment.

The Programme Manager of EIFIL, Mark Adejo said that through the initiative, “we aim to foster self-reliance, boost household income, and strengthen community development. The women actively participated, sharing their enthusiasm and eagerness to apply their new skills for sustainable living.

“We remain committed to supporting and empowering women as we work toward a future where every woman has the opportunity to thrive,” he said.
