Ramadan: House of Reps member distributes food items worth N350million



A member of the House of Representatives, representing Alkaleri-Kirfi Federal Constituency in Bauchi State, Alhaji Kabiru Yusuf (AKY Makama Duguri) has distributed food items worth N350 million to his constituents as Ramadan palliative.

Makama said that the items were given to his people to reduce the hardship during the month of Ramadan. 

The items include; 2,500 bags of rice, 2,000 cartons of spaghetti, 500 cartons of vegetable oil, 1,000 bags of sugar and 500 cartons of noodles.
Makama explained that beneficiaries of the food items include the All Progressives Congress (APC) executives from local government to ward levels, members of AKY Makama structure, stakeholders from Alkaleri-Kirfi constituency, opposition parties, women and youth groups and some selected individuals from the two local governments.

According to him, in addition to this food gesture, N2 million was earlier given to party executives and stakeholders of his constituency as Ramadan gift.

He added that after Sallah holidays, he planned to commence massive empowerment programmes to people of his constituency, where beneficiaries would receive cash, vehicles, motorcycles, tricycles and other economic tools.

On his part, chairman APC stakeholders Alkaleri LGA, Alhaji Adamu Umar Gokaru, highlights some achievements of the federal lawmaker to include distribution of fertilizer and other agricultural inputs, vehicles, motorcycle, tricycle, construction of PHC facilities, classrooms, international cattle market, securing of federal jobs to about 80 constituents, drilling of boreholes and installation of solar lights among others.

Adamu Gokaru, expressed confidence that AKY Makama would take Alkaleri-Kirfi federal constituency to greater height.

On his remark, APC chairman Bauchi state, Alhaji Hassan Muhammad Tilde, represented by state secretary Alhaji Mustapha Shehu Zirami, thanked AKY Makama for promoting party activities in his constituency, adding that APC had set up a committee comprising former state chairmen that will engage various stakeholders in an effort to bring members together.

Other speakers at the event, comrade Sabo Muhammad, Dr. Musa Muazu Badara and Abdulkadir Lawal Gyangyan, encouraged the lawmaker to continue with his economic empowerment programs and other developmental projects in his constituency.
