Group of supporters of Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi, under the auspices of Senator Ningi Vanguard 2027 have called on the lawmaker to contest the governorship seat and succeed Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State.

The Group on Tuesday during a press briefing, said that after careful consultation across the 20 local government areas of the state, thousands of youths agreed to work for the senator.

Abdul Ahmed Ningi is the senator representing the Bauchi Central Senatorial District and was re-elected in 2023. He contested the state governorship ticket in 2019 which was won by the incumbent Governor, Bala Mohammed.

Ningi who is so passionate in becoming the first governor from the Central zone of the state since the creation in 1976 will face a tough time in picking the ticket and winning the race following multiple aspirants from Bauchi South which has held on to power since 1999.

Meanwhile, the national secretary of the group, Comrade Abdulrahim Musa, while speaking, said that: “We can boldly say with all sense of modesty that he has recorded outstanding success in his leadership, concerning youths and nation building. Senator Ningi’s academic and leadership intelligence successes are not just a credit to him alone but to the entire Nigerian youths, students and society irrespective of religion, ethnicity and any status.

“Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi Vanguard 2027 (SAAN 27) vows to avail its solidarity within our capacity to mobilise, campaign and canvas vote towards the victory election of Senator Ningi as Bauchi State Governor in 2027. We have confidence in him as a courageous, zealous, charismatic, simple, intelligent, intellectual and zero tolerance for indiscipline.

“He fights corruption in all ramification and that's what makes him a leader worthy of emulation, Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi gave the youth folks an opportunity to grow, to accomplish, achieve and excel, backed by trust and confidence.”
